He started his career in 1985 as a police officer in New York City and moved to the elite New York State Police in 1989. While still serving as a Trooper, he began contracting in security in 1990, specializing as an Operator, Executive Protection Agent, and Instructor in firearms, hand-to-hand combat, and tactics.

His commitment to service was particularly evident during his tenure with the New York State Police, where he retired after a notable assignment at Ground Zero during the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks.
